Biography
Dr. Veronica Killebrew is the interim Director of the Office of Federal TRiO.
Prior to her current role, she was the Associate Director of Academic Persistence in the Academic Success Center, where she guided a team that offers support and intervention for students facing academic challenges and engaging campus partners to create strategic initiatives to enhance student success and retention. Her work has consistently been driven by a commitment to data-informed decision-making and a focus on implementing high-impact practices to improve student outcomes.
Before her time at Wayne State, Dr. Killebrew held various leadership roles at Marygrove College. Notably, she authored grants that secured over $2.8 million in federal and state funding for student success programs, significantly increasing degree attainment rates for underrepresented students.
In addition to her administrative roles, Dr. Killebrew is an avid educator and consultant, leveraging her expertise to facilitate learning opportunities for students and professionals. Her dedication to lifelong learning is evident in her educational background, which includes a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership from Walden University and multiple master's degrees from Marygrove College and Walsh College. In her work, Dr. Killebrew strives to make meaningful connections, advance student achievement, and elevate diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education.
