Biography
Christine is the Director of the Academic Success Center. She founded the Tutor Training Academy, a hub for tutors across campus to receive initial and ongoing tutor training, guidance and support. Christine is an active member of the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). She spearheaded the international center accreditation and renewal of the Supplemental Instruction (SI) Program at Wayne State University, leading a model SI program. Christine is also an International Center SI Associate. Christine has held several leadership positions in professional organizations including President of the Michigan Tutorial Association, and Director of Special Projects and Events for the College Access Consortium of New York (CACNY).
Christine is passionate about college access and student success. Prior to her time at Wayne, Christine worked in New York City for a statewide comprehensive student support service program for college-bound students. She served as a mentor to underserved students in Camp College through the New York State Association for College Admissions Counseling (NYSACAC). She has presented college readiness workshops to college-bound students and parents throughout her career in New York City and continuing the effort at Wayne State.
Christine holds a Master’s degree in Education with a specialization in school counseling from Hunter College, City University of New York, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Albany, State University of New York.
