Fall Opening Student Success Sessions
Friday, August 23rd
Join us to learn more about getting ready for college by attending our Student Success Sessions! There are a wide variety of session topics, and you can choose any two that will help you the most.
Times and locations
Session topics are 45-minutes long. The first run will take place at 2 PM, and the second run time is at 3 PM. Choose a different topic at each of the two available times.
- First run time is from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. (green options below)
- Second run time is from 3:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. (yellow options below)
All sessions will take place in person at various locations on campus. See registration links for more details.

Eligibility
We strongly encourage all incoming first-year students to attend these sessions, whether you are transferring to Wayne State this fall, or if this is your first time in any college.
Registration
Sign up by clicking the link at your desired session topic and run time, then completing the registration form(s) to secure your spot! Choose one topic at 2 PM, and another topic at 3 PM.

In this session, Economic Development will share resources and “insider tips” designed to help you explore and engage in the Motor City — a place unlike any other. From uniquely Detroit attractions like the Charles H. Tips and Tricks for the Pre-Health student | This session offers attendees the opportunity to learn from current, pre-health students, about how they are preparing a successful application for their chosen pre-health pathway. Navigating Canvas | Collab with our C&IT experts to learn how to navigate Canvas. Canvas is Wayne State's online learning management system. Students can take quizzes, upload assignments, participate in message boards and more. Campus Health Center: Overview and Resources | The Campus Health Center (CHC) is a nurse-managed health center that serves currently enrolled Wayne State University (WSU) students, faculty, and staff. Building Financial Literacy During College | Learn how to be "Warrior Smart" about money through the Office of Student Financial Aid's financial literacy session. This session will cover college budgeting tips and tools, the fundamental steps for managing finances, and how to begin planning financially for your future while in college.
